While the majority of their shows are in the United States, they will go overseas for some big events from time to time. Now, WWE seems ready to head into one of the biggest markets out there and they might have some plans ready.

Earlier this year, reports came out saying that WWE was hoping to run a major event in India at some point this year. According to SportsKeeda, the event would be held on September 9 in the city of Hyderabad. The show was originally planned for January but WWE’s Indian TV partner Sony Six wanted to wait until its planned merger was complete. There is no word on if the show would be broadcast or held just a live event. WWE has not yet announced the show and there is no word on who will be on the show.

WWE has tried to appeal to India before. Check out some how some of their previous efforts have been, both stateside and in India:

Opinion: This is something that makes all the sense in the world as WWE would want to be in on one of the biggest possible markets out there. Wrestling promotions have tried to get their foot in the door in India for a long time now and WWE seems interested in trying it again. There is a very good chance that they could make it work and that could be fun for a lot of fans.
