Farewell? WWE has been going through a variety of changes in recent months. Some of the names have come and gone, as the Vince McMahon regime oversaw a bunch of releases, while the Triple H regime saw many of them rehired. WWE is now under new ownership though and things are going to be changing again. We have an idea what that might mean for the roster.

According to WrestleVotes by way of GiveMeSport, WWE is planning to make some releases before July 1. This is described as a “minor batch of releases”, though there is no word on the number of wrestlers or who might be leaving. These cuts are reportedly designed to help lower the company’s costs as Endeavor takes over starting later this year. There is no word on if there will be more cuts coming this year.

Opinion: You had to know that something like this was coming and the big questions now are all about the details. There are some wrestlers who have been sitting on the sidelines for a long time and I can understand why the new owners see those salaries are rather open to being cut. At the end of the day, WWE is going to have to cut some salaries and it would make sense to let some wrestlers go, as annoying as it might be.
