He’s a big one. There have been all kinds of stars over the years in WWE, with some of the biggest stars in the company walking through the doors. The company has long since made a big deal out of focusing on its history and honoring its legends. That seems to be the case again, which makes sense as we are on the way towards a special anniversary to one of the biggest moments in wrestling history.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is planning to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hulk Hogan’s first WWE Championship win. The win took place on January 23, 1984 and is seen as the birth of Hulkamania. WWE would be releasing various merchandise and memorabilia to mark the anniversary. There are currently no plans for Hogan himself to appear, though that could change.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that almost has to be done somewhere as Hogan winning the title was one of the few moments that changed wrestling forever. At the end of the day, this really was the biggest change for wrestling in a very long time and the company acknowledging the win would be a good way to go. If nothing else, Roman Reigns is coming up on breaking Hogan’s mark for one of the longest reigns ever and it could be worth a showdown.
