WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Planning Major Event Over Super Bowl Weekend

Tis the season. WWE has long since been established as the top professional wrestling company in the world and makes a fortune every single year no matter what they do. The company has reached a point where it is able to compete with other sports leagues and is put in the same place at various times. That will be the case again this week with one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is planning to hold a media event in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 8. This will be taking place during Super Bowl Weekend, with New Orleans set to host Super Bowl 59. WWE did the same thing in previous years as a way to promote WrestleMania. There is nothing to indicate that WrestleMania will be returning to New Orleans in the future, though the show has been held there twice, in 2014 and 2018.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that should make for an interesting situation, as WWE is getting to be around with the biggest sporting event in the country. That should make for a nice boost for WWE and the question now becomes just what they might do at the event. It would not surprise me to see them running an angle there, though it does make you wonder how much attention WWE will receive with the Super Bowl being the focus.
