Casting call? We are about a month and a half away from WrestleMania 39, which is being themed as WrestleMania Goes Hollywood. This is the same ad campaign as WrestleMania 21 in 2005, which featured a series of parody movie trailers including WWE stars. These trailers have been aired again in the build to this year’s WrestleMania and now we might be getting something fresh.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In Stone: Update On WWE’s Plans For WrestleMania 39

Last week, a story broke that WWE would be creating more of the parody movie trailers featuring modern WWE stars. While we knew some of the names, we did not know what they would be doing. According to WrestleVotes, here are the trailers that are being planned:

  • Miz & Maryse – Top Gun
  • Rhea Ripley/Judgment Day – Stranger Things
  • Brawling Brutes/Drew McIntyre – The 40 Year Old Virgin
  • Becky Lynch/Seth Rollins – Batman and the Joker
  • The Bloodline – Goodfellas

There is no word on when the vignettes will begin airing. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2.

The originals are going to be tough to beat. Check out the previous generation:

Opinion: The lineup for the new trailers sounds interesting and I’m curious to see just how well they go. What matters is that WWE is trying something they have done before and had go very well. The idea of putting wrestlers into different situations like this one has potential and I’m curious to see how they do with a new batch. If nothing else, the idea has enough promise to carry it a long way.

What do you think of the list? Which will be the best? Let us know in the comments below.
