They’re looking ahead. We are less than two months removed from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is high time for WWE to start thinking about WrestleMania 40. The show is going to be one of the biggest in WWE history and it is going to need some major matches to draw in the audience. It seems that WWE is doing just that, as they are already discussing a major main event.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Interesting Note On WWE Bringing Back World Heavyweight Championship
According to WRKD Wrestling on Twitter, WWE is considering Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther as the Raw main event for WrestleMania 40. The two have reportedly wanted to face each other and were the final two entrants in the men’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year. The two are currently seen as the top babyface and heel on Monday Night Raw. No decision has been made about any WrestleMania 40 matches so far.
While it’s still early, discussions have taken place for #WWERaw’s main event for WrestleMania 40 to potentially be Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther.

They do work well. Check out the two on their own and against each other:
Opinion: This is one of those matches that makes sense and if it is what we get, we should be in for a heck of a showdown. Rhodes vs. Gunther could make a great match as they have already shown they have chemistry on the big stage. Let that be the case in an even bigger match on an even bigger stage and we could be in for something special, which is what WrestleMania needs.
