Don’t get ready for him. There are several talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and as a result, other promotions would love to be able to pick them up. That is occasionally an option as the AEW stars’ contracts can come up for renewal, potentially making them a free agent. It turns out that one long rumored star’s contract will not be coming up anytime soon though.

According to Cagesideseats.com, Ricky Starks’ current AEW deal is not expected to expire “in the near future”, meaning he will not be able to go to WWE anytime soon. This comes amid rumors that Starks was hoping to be able to make the move to WWE whenever he was allowed, though it is not clear when exactly Starks’ current deal expires. He last wrestled for AEW in March of this year, though he did wrestle an independent match on May 31.

Opinion: This is one of the more frustrating situations in wrestling today, as Starks has not been on AEW television in almost seven months and is just sitting on the sidelines until his contract expires. Unfortunately it’s going to take a good while before that changes, and unless there is a big breakthrough, we’re not going to see Starks wrestle again for a rather long time.
