WRESTLING RUMORS: Some Wrestlers Reportedly Unhappy With The Rock’s Recent Promos

Call the boss? Earlier this year, the Rock was officially added to the WWE Board Of Directors, making him an official authority figure in the company. Around the same time, he began appearing on a somewhat regular basis on WWE programming. That wasn’t it for him though, as he has been doing some things for WWE outside of its television. However, it isn’t going over as well as expected in some cases.

Over the last few weeks, the Rock has released promos on social media, hyping up his feud with Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. These promos have included some non-PG language. According to SEScoops.com, WWE recently released a memo reminding wrestlers to stick to PG language both on television and on social media. This has reportedly caused some questions of double standards among WWE wrestlers, as the Rock is not being held to the same rules. There is nothing to suggest that the Rock will be punished for his language.

Opinion: I get the thinking on paper here, but ultimately, the Rock is a big enough star that he is going to be treated differently. Ignoring his star power and importance to the WWE TV product, there is also the whole “Board Of Directors” aspect, which makes him even more of a force. While some people are not going to like the ruling, it’s one of those realities that isn’t going to change anytime soon.
