That doesn’t sound great. WWE has been going through a variety of changes in recent weeks and those changes are going to continue for the future as the new ownership takes over. The question now becomes what that means for the weekly television shows, one of which was rather different last week. Now there is a story about one wrestler not taking the changes well.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Possible Plans For Rhea Ripley At WWE Backlash
Last week’s Monday Night Raw was run by Vince McMahon for the first time in several months. The show reportedly underwent several last minute changes and rewrites as ordered by McMahon. During the show, Seth Rollins came to the ring, conducted the fans to as they sang his theme song, and left without saying a word (though he did speak backstage before the segment).
According to former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. and his cohost Jeff Dye on the Wrestling With Freddie podcast, Rollins was yelling at the production staff, asking why there was a commercial during the segment. Prinze also said that Rollins walked out of the show after his segment was over. Rollins did not appear on the following week’s show, though there is nothing to suggest he is in any trouble or mad about the previous week’s situation.
Rollins has had a strange situation recently. Check out what he has been doing:
Opinion: I’m not sure what the idea behind Rollins’ segment was but it felt a little strange when it was taking place. It would not surprise me if that was just a McMahon idea that didn’t have much of a follow up planned. Rollins will be fine as he is one of the top stars in the company, but that was one of the weirdest things on a strange show and it didn’t exactly go well.
