I’d call that a positive. WrestleMania 39 was less than two months ago yet it already feels like so many things have changed since then. WWE is already going in a different direction with several stories and there are things taking place that wouldn’t have made sense around WrestleMania time. There is also a prominent wrestler missing, and now we might have a clue about his return.

Drew McIntyre has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 39, reportedly due to creative and/or contract issues. McIntyre was drafted to Monday Night Raw last month but has yet to appear on the show since. However, this week’s Monday Night Raw featured Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn teaming up with a mystery partner against Imperium.
According to Ringsidenews.com, McIntyre, who has tweeted infrequently since WrestleMania, retweeted WWE’s announcement about the match and then deleted it soon thereafter. While not confirmed, this could suggest that McIntyre’s return is imminent. Matt Riddle wound up being the partner in the match, with his team going on to win.
There is some talent on the sidelines. Check out what McIntyre can do when he is around:
Opinion: It would be great to have McIntyre back sooner than later as having him gone this long is strange to see. McIntyre is such a workhorse in WWE that seeing him miss this much time feels very out of the norm. Hopefully WWE can work out everything with him, as it would be a shame if some kind of a disagreement keeps the two sides apart for any longer stretch of time.
