She’s up first. WrestleMania 39 was the biggest event of the WWE year and it included a variety of changes up and down the card. This included multiple title changes, which opened up a variety of new doors for different stars. Those new champions are going to have to defend their newly won titles though, and now we might know who will be challenging one of those new champions.

Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte at WrestleMania 39 to win the SmackDown Women’s Title. According to Fight Fans, WWE has been discussing Zelina Vega as Ripley’s first challenge for the title at Backlash. Vega and Ripley have been involved with each other as part of issues between the LWO and Judgment Day. Backlash is set to take place on May 6 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Opinion: This would be an interesting way to go, as Ripley is going to need a challenger and Vega is going to need to be built up to be that challenger. They do have a bit of a history so the title match would not come out of nowhere. I’m curious to see how it would go, but they have at least laid some of the groundwork for what they could be doing at Backlash.
