WRESTLING RUMORS: New Details On AEW Saturday Show, Bigger Than Expected?

They have a plan for that. AEW has come a long way in its five or so years of existence, as the company has grown to a level that would have been hard to fathom not so very long ago. This includes bringing in all kinds of new talents and establishing new weekly series. At some point you have to keep expanding though and that might be the case again with their newest idea.

There have been rumors in recent weeks regarding a new AEW television series airing on Saturday nights. This included a new trademark being filed for “AEW Collision” and reports of a “soft” roster split, with CM Punk being the focal point of either Collision or Dynamite. According to the Mat Men Podcast, the show will be premiering in June in a two hour time slow from 8-10pm, with an announcement expected next month. The two hour and 8-10pm time slow were originally reported by WrestleZone.

Opinion: This is something that feels like it is going to happen, with the Punk detail making it all the more interesting. I’m curious to see if this is where they are going, but at the same time, AEW adding in another two hours on another night is stretching the limit of what they can do. If you count Ring Of Honor, this is the sixth night of the week that a Tony Khan produced event will be airing. That’s quite extreme, and I’m almost worried about how far things are going.
