He wanted out? The rise of AEW has shaken up the balance of the professional wrestling world. There are only so many wrestlers around the industry and those people now have another top level place to go. That is the kind of thing that can open up a lot of doors and now it seems that another major name is at least somewhat interested in jumping to another promotion.
Last month, Kenny Omega returned to AEW television following several months away due to a variety of surgeries. According to Ringsidenews.com, prior to his absence, Omega had sent out feelers to see if WWE had any interest in bringing him in. Omega is still with AEW and there is no word on when his current contract expires. The Young Bucks have been rumored to send out similar feelers, though the authenticity of that report is unclear. Omega returned to action and won the Trios Titles with the Young Bucks, only to be suspended for his role in a backstage brawl after All Out.
Opinion: It’s kind of hard to imagine Omega making the jump over to WWE given his status and level of success in AEW. That being said, there is nothing wrong with testing out the waters and seeing if there is any serious interest on the other side. Omega is a talented star who would be a big catch for WWE and it makes a lot of sense to see what he could be able to get.
Will Omega ever go to WWE? Where would he be better utilized? Let us know in the comments below.
