It’s old but it’s new. There have been a lot of titles over the years in WWE and some of them have wound up among the most prestigious in wrestling history. At the same time, some titles wind up going away for one reason or another and their lineage wraps up for good. This time though, a title is being brought back and now we know something new about the returning championship.

This weekend at Night Of Champions, AJ Styles will face Seth Rollins for the revived World Heavyweight Championship. According to BWE on Twitter by way of Cagesideseats.com, WWE will be continuing the lineage of the original World Heavyweight Championship, which was active from 2002-2013, with Randy Orton defeating John Cena to unify the title with the WWE Title at Tables, Ladders And Chairs 2013.

Opinion: This is one of those things that makes sense, though it is still a little weird. The title was unified out of existence almost ten years ago and now it is coming back for whatever reason. At the end of the day though, the original version was a WWE creation so they can say it is coming back if they want to go that way. What matters is having a title around though, and now we might be in for something cool.
