There are more problems. One of the biggest stories in wrestling over the last two weeks has been the fall of CM Punk, who went from opening AEW All In to being fired from the company in less than a week. Punk’s departure comes after a long and rocky road in AEW, and now we are hearing about another issue that took place before he had even been around very long.

According to Bodyslam.net, Punk had a backstage altercation with William Regal when Regal debuted at AEW Revolution 2022 on March 6. Punk allegedly refused to shake Regal’s hand and said he neither liked nor trusted Regal, calling him a “stooge” for WWE COO Triple H. There is no word on how Regal responded. Regal left AEW in December 2022 to return to a backstage role in WWE.
He wasn’t around long. Check out Regal’s time in AEW, plus a match he had with Punk:
Opinion: I consider myself a Punk fan, but I’m having quite the hard time trying to figure out a way around saying something like that to Regal. Assuming this is true, that is quite the situation for Punk to find himself in and it doesn’t exactly set the stage for anything going well for him backstage. Regal has quite the reputation in wrestling and Punk saying that to him is not the best look.
