That’s a lot more. AEW has shaken up the wrestling world in a lot of ways as the company has gone in its own direction more than once. That being said, there are certain things that it does in a more traditional sense, some of which have been done long before AEW came about. This includes running pay per view events, and now AEW may be set to change how they present them entirely.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast says that he feels “confident” that AEW will be expanding to twelve pay per view events a year with the event airing on the Max streaming service. It is not entirely clear if this is Zarian reporting or speculating about the move. There were no further details such as price, event names or a launch date. This comes as AEW has expanded its pay per view schedule this year, with a record seven events already announced.

That would be a bunch. Check out some of what AEW does on pay per view:

Opinion: This is a situation where the details are going to be what matters most. AEW currently charges around $50 for a traditional pay per view. If a fan has to pay to get on Max and then gets the show at no additional charge, this could be great. However, paying for Max and then more for the pay per view could run into quite the bill rather quickly and that might not go over so well. That’s before you even get into the idea of the creative strain this will put on AEW.

What do you think of the idea? How many annual pay per views should AEW present? Let us know in the comments below.
