That could have been a stretch. The WWE Draft has come and gone for the year and that means a lot of changes have taken place. There were several major moves made and some of them were rather interesting, with some of the adjustments changes the course of several wrestlers careers. It turns out that there was almost another big change for two wrestlers which never went through.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE was considering breaking up the AJ Styles/Omos tag team during the Draft but ultimately changed their minds. The move was ready to be made but some of the higher ups on the show, including an unnamed top wrestler, stood up and said that it was a bad idea. The theory was that Omos is not ready to be a singles star just yet, with WWE listening to the issues.
WWE had seriously considered breaking the pairing of AJ Styles & Omos during draft. To the point where that was the plan. Until people of power (including a main RAW talent) spoke up & expressed thoughts on how Omos isn’t quite ready for singles yet. And they actually listened.

They do make a good team. Check out what Styles and have done together:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that gives me a bit of hope for WWE. One of their biggest problems seems to be that they make up their mind and don’t take in any possible issues that could arise. Styles and Omos do still need to be together, at least for Omos’ sake. He is not someone WWE is going to find every day and it would make sense to bring him along at the right pace instead of flying through everything as fast as they can. The fact that WWE listened to someone is a good sign going forward.
