I don’t think that was the plan. There are a lot of things that need to come together to make a wrestling match work but sometimes all of the planning in the world might not be enough. One little thing going wrong can cause some a major issue and that seems to have taken place again in a crucial spot of one of the bigger WWE matches to take place in recent memory.
The opening match of Crown Jewel 2022 saw Brock Lesnar defeat Bobby Lashley in controversial fashion. Lesnar kicked out of the corner to land on Lashley for a pin, though Lashley’s shoulder was up. As a result, fans have voiced their displeasure with the finish on Twitter, with several being upset about how the match ended in controversy and should have gone in another way. Here are some of the reactions:
This would be pretty damn good. But the way the Crown Jewel match ended, I don’t think we’ve seen the last Lesnar v. Lashley. https://t.co/TZdTVvhMzo

All were great except Stroman Omos, and the stupid finish of Lesnar Lashley

Starting Crown Jewel now. That Lesnar vs Lashley ending was dumb.

#CrownJewel Brock Lesnar Bobby Lashley match wasn’t quite what I was expecting the match and the ending it wasn’t that long and pin was so controversial it wasn’t a clean match there’s gotta be third match this match didn’t quite live up to the hype it was such a disappointment

After watching the Crown Jewel event on Saturday and I strongly disagree with referees decision giving Brock Lesnar the , however on video image Bobby Lashley shoulders were not totally pinned to surface of mat, his right shoulder was off the mat three or four inches

Opinion: They’re on to something here as Lashley’s shoulder was definitely up. I’m not sure if that was planned or just a mistake, but either way it was not the best way to go. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was a way to set up a rubber match between the two, as the first match ended with some chicanery as well. I can’t blame fans for being annoyed though, as it wasn’t the best look for either of them.
