It doesn’t get much bigger than that. Wrestling is an interesting part of pop culture. There are a lot of wrestlers who have become a big deal in mainstream culture, or at least some who are known to a lot of people. However, they are still in a certain bubble of just being wrestlers, which isn’t about to change anytime soon. That being said, wrestling can still get a lot of people’s attention and now we might know when they will have their next chance.

Whether you like them or not, there is no denying that the Walt Disney Company has taken over the entertainment world in a way that almost no one could believe. They own so many properties that it is almost impossible to fathom. From Star Wars to Marvel to the Muppets to the Disney characters themselves, there is almost nothing they don’t touch in some way. Now, it might be wrestling’s turn.

According to Deadline.com, Disney has ordered a pilot episode for a television series called Ultra Violet And Blue Demon, which would star former NWA World Champion Blue Demon Jr. as himself in the role of a superhero. The series is not a guarantee though as it would require finding the right actress to play Violet, Blue Demon’s niece. There is no word on when the series would air.

You might not know Blue Demon Jr. so here’s some help. Check out a few of his big matches:

Opinion: This sounds rather cool actually and I can always go with wrestling getting some more attention in the mainstream. I’m not sure how well the show would be received or if it would have much wrestling involved, but luchadors and superheroes go all the way back to the El Santo days so this is hardly some unheard of idea. I’d love to see this show get made and would certainly check it out if it airs.
