It was worth it. There are certain wrestlers who are going to going to be around at almost every major WWE event. Some of them are near lifers in the company and it makes sense that WWE would want them around. Every now and then they find someone who can do something for them for a very long time. This time around though, they found someone who was willing to do something else for a lot of people.
Randy Orton made his WWE debut back in 2002 and has gone on to become one of the biggest and most successful stars that the company has ever seen. Orton has won almost everything there is to win in WWE and is still wrestling at a high level today despite being in his 40s. He was in another high profile match at this year’s WrestleMania 37 and he brought his family with him at quite the cost.
The day after his victory on the second day of WrestleMania 37, Orton sent out a tweet saying that he brought his family to WrestleMania at a cost of $20,000. Orton brought his wife along with five children to the show, which saw him defeat the Fiend in the opening match on the card. The victory marked the end of Orton’s feud with the Fiend, as both moved on the following night on Monday Night Raw.
WM. Historic. One of a kind, only here at #wwe you can see the spectacle! Also, I was charged 20 thousand dollars for my family (wife and 5 kids) to watch dad rassle fight a demon…. and WIN!

Orton’s match with the Fiend featured interference from Alexa Bliss, who distracted the Fiend by sitting on top of the Jack in the Box that Fiend had appeared from to start the match. Ultimately Bliss appeared again with black goo on her face and distracted the Fiend, allowing Orton to hit the RKO for the win. Throughout their feud, which began in October, the Fiend never defeated Orton.
These two had a heck of a feud. Check out some of their time against each other, including WrestleMania:
Opinion: This is one of those things that goes into wrestling that you might never think about. Of course Orton did not have to do this, but paying for six people to come to the show and be taken care of during their stay, not to mention the cost of their tickets alone, is quite the task. It also says a lot that Orton was willing to do so, and at least his family got to see him win.
I know Orton might not be the most popular name in wrestling at times, but there is something about him that shows you how dedicated he is to the business. He comes from a wrestling family and is one of the most successful stars that WWE has ever seen. That alone is enough to put him pretty high on the list of biggest names in WWE history, but this is a rather cool thing to do.
