Next team up. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles have had a pretty up and down experience in their two years of existence. While there have been a few memorable moments, the titles have often been held and competed for by makeshift teams who do not have the sake track record. That is quite frustrating at times, and now we might be seeing something similar.
One of the only things to stretch from night one to night two of WrestleMania 37 was the Women’s Tag Team Title match. Starting on night one, a Women’s Tag Team Turmoil match was held with the winners coming back on night two to fight for the titles. Natalya and Tamina earned the title shot but came up short. It just might be their last shot at the titles at the moment.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan for moving forward is a WrestleMania rematch, with Tamina and Natalya receiving another shot against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania Backlash. This comes after Natalya defeated Baszler in a singles match on SmackDown, despite interference from Jax. The match has yet to be officially announced for WrestleMania Backlash on May 16.
The match has been set up. Check out how we got here:
Opinion: This is not exactly a huge surprise but it is a match that makes sense. Natalya and Tamina can point out how close they got despite wrestling the day before while Jax and Baszler need some more competition. There is only so much that you can get out of beating up Mandy Rose and Dana Brook every week, so this should be as good as anything else right now.
