That was fast. We are less than nineteen days away from WrestleMania and that means things are about to get a lot more intense in a hurry. With so many things going on at once, there are only so many ways to have things work out. WWE has a lot of work left to do to set the card up though and a lot of that was taken care of during this week’s television show.
As we came into this week’s Monday Night Raw, there were only four matches set for WrestleMania 37. That is hardly a lot in a regular year but this is a year with the show taking place over the course of two nights. WWE is going to need to do a lot of things to make the show work, even if there are several stories already set up and waiting to be made official. Some of those were changed this week.
Four new matches were added to the WrestleMania 37 card during this week’s Monday Night Raw, bringing the total to eight. The new matches include Raw Women’s Champion Asuka defending against Rhea Ripley, Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon with a stipulation to be named, the Fiend vs. Randy Orton and Bad Bunny vs. the Miz. Everything but Fiend vs. Orton involved a challenge being made and accepted during the show.
That is a lot to process. Check out how each one was set:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that the show needed, but I’m not sure how good of a sign it is to have the card doubled in the span of three hours. That is a lot of work to have thrown into a single night, though it might wind up working out. This year’s WrestleMania is not exactly a thrilling show but it is certainly going to have some energy, just from how fast things were built. Maybe they can just get by with how fast things are moving, though that is a bit of a risky play to go.
