Could Be Worse? Dutch Mantell Says Jerry Lawler’s Stroke Recovery Not Going As Well As Hoped

That isn’t good. Wrestlers have a very physical job and it can result in a variety of health issues over their careers. Unfortunately that does not mean their health will be perfect when they are ready to start stepping away from the ring, which was on display earlier this year with a wrestling legend. Now we know a bit more about what is going on and it is not the best news.

Back in February, Jerry Lawler suffered a stroke, along with a series of mini strokes. During the latest edition of his Story Time podcast, Dutch Mantell said that he had heard that Lawler is doing much better, but he is having trouble finishing sentences. While Lawler can speak well, he will be left searching for words at the end of his sentences and gets frustrated as a result. Mantell also said that Lawler was having trouble with his right hand. Mantell also refused to give the source of his information, but said that he trusted the source.

Opinion: That isn’t the best thing to hear, but “he is doing well” is a good thing to hear. If nothing else, he is out of the hospital and that is certainly an improvement. Lawler is a legend but he is in his early 70s and his health has been a bit of an issue over the years. Hopefully Lawler can bounce back, though he seems to be doing at least somewhat well and that could have be a lot worse.
