It Worked: How New Day Made Vince McMahon Cry With Laughter

I would call that a success. While he has all kinds of issues and baggage, there has never been a more powerful force in wrestling history than Vince McMahon. Getting his endorsement can make all the difference in the world for a wrestler. Now we are hearing about McMahon giving a wrestler the go ahead to do something that is more than a little unique.

WWE star Xavier Woods was a guest on Insight With Chris Van Vliet and discussed the origins of carrying a trombone to the ring. The original plan was for New Day to sing a song during a segment, but Woods requested a trombone instead. Eventually the idea was approved and Woods played it during the match, resulting in a cameraman telling Woods that McMahon was “crying laughing. He’s loving this.” McMahon went on to say that he never wanted to see Woods without his trombone.

I mean….it’s a trombone. Check out what Woods has done with the idea:

Opinion: Sure why not. There is something to be said about having something this over the top and it has certainly worked out for Woods over the years. Having a trombone of all things is not something that you see very often and yet Woods has turned it into a heck of an idea. I’m not sure why it works, but maybe it is just the pure absurdity of the whole thing. Either way, good for Woods for getting it over.
