Hand then over. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they identify the top wrestlers in a promotion. Fans can easily understand who they should be paying attention to based on who is holding a big shiny belt. It is the kind of thing has worked for years and a title changing hands makes a huge difference. That is what took place this week.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They’re In: Two Matches Officially Set For WWE Summerslam
This week on Monday Night Raw, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Prior to the match, Rhea Ripley attacked Morgan and Rodriguez during a backstage interview, including injuring the latter’s knee. The win marks the first reign for both Green and Deville, both individually and as a team.
It was a busy night. Check out the before, during and after:
Opinion: This was the right call for everyone involved as Rodriguez and Morgan were out of things to do as champions. It already felt like Ripley vs. Rodriguez was on the horizon and there was no need to have Rodriguez coming in as a champion already. Green and Deville have been quite the solid fit as a team in the first place and now we could be in for a rather nice reign.
What do you think of the change? How will the new reign go? Let us know in the comments below.
