Fancy seeing you again. Sometimes wrestlers are just dropped out of nowhere and you don’t see them again for a long time. This could be the case for a lot of reasons, but what is more interesting than seeing the wrestler leaving is seeing them return, which can often be quite the surprise, especially if they get a big push upon their return. That was the case on Wednesday when a big twist took place.

This week on NXT, Lio Rush made his return to WWE television when he defeated Oney Lorcan to become the new #1 contender to the Cruiserweight Title. Rush had not appeared on WWE TV since the April 15 Monday Night Raw and had since removed all references to WWE from his social media accounts. While he had been rumored to return to NXT for a few months, nothing had seemed concrete and his match on Tuesday had not been advertised or hinted at.

This was a surprise. Check out Rush’s return:

Opinion: This wasn’t something I would have bet on seeing but given the returns of Luke Harper and Rusev over the last few days, it makes sense to have Rush get in on the act as well. Rush is incredibly talented, but none of that is going to matter if he can’t hang in the locker room. Hopefully everything works well here as you never can tell when he might set people off again and get dropped one more time.

What do you think of Rush? Will he win the Cruiserweight Title? Let us know in the comments below.
