They’re quite good. WWE has gone a long way to try and bring in fresh talent over the last several years, including the NIL program, which is designed to find amateur athletes and bring them into the company. The program has produced a few success stories, though several people signed under it continue to compete in other sports. Now one of those stars has made quite the accomplishment.

WWE NIL member Masai Russell won a gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in the 100m hurdles event. WWE CCO Triple H congratulated her on her win by responding to a tweet about the event. There is no word on when Russell could appear on WWE television, assuming she ever does. Russell signed with WWE in December 2021 as part of the inaugural NIL class.

Opinion: I’m not sure if Russell is ever going to appear for WWE, but it is a nice idea to have her signed up for a spot like this. If she winds up in WWE one day, it is only going to make the company look that much better to have another gold medal winner on the roster. If it doesn’t work out, WWE is hardly out of anything major, making it quite the safe bet without much of a downside.
