It’s working. Wrestling is a lot of things, but ultimately it is about making money. A promotion is out to be as profitable as possible and that is not always the easiest thing in the world. There are all kinds of ways to bring money into a wrestling company and one of the best is through merchandising. It seems that a group of WWE stars are doing just that and the names might surprise you.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the LWO is selling merchandise “very well right now”. The idea behind the merchandise is to tie the team to Eddie Guerrero, as the original LWO was led by Guerrero. The new version’s shirt is the same as the original and this version is described as being almost exactly like Guerrero made popular, “right down to the team losing every match practically.” This version of the LWO was formed by Rey Mysterio on March 31 and consists of himself and the former Legado del Fantasma.

Both versions had their time. Check out a look at the two versions:

Opinion: If this is what WWE is trying to do, not only does it make sense but it seems to be working. Guerrero is one of the most popular stars WWE has ever seen and bringing back one of his better remembered periods is a smart move. At the very least, it is great to see the former Legado del Fantasma getting something to do, which is more than they could have said in recent weeks.
