Change of policy. There are all kinds of moving parts in WWE and you never know when they are going to make another change. Some of them make all the sense in the world on paper, but there are times when it feels like the company is making some sort of power play. That was the case a few years ago, but now things are changing back in what might be a popular move.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s Why: 45 Year Old Former WWE Star Reveals Why He Walked Away From Wrestling
Back in 2020, WWE changed its policy on its wrestlers appearing on third party online platforms, including Cameo and Twitch. The new policy would have resulted in WWE having much more control over what their stars do on the platforms and how much money they would earn as a result. According to Fightful Select, a new agreement between Twitch and WWE would bring many of the wrestlers back to the platform, with the majority of the revenue being split between Twitch and the wrestlers. The wrestlers are said to be happy with the change, though WWE will still have to clear wrestlers’ partnerships with other companies.
Its a new deal. Check out some previous WWE deals:
Opinion: This is a great thing to see and it is nice for the wrestlers to be getting something like this back. While I can understand WWE’s position, having the wrestlers on platforms such as Twitch or Cameo can be quite the nice side business for the wrestlers, as well as advertising for WWE. Unless things go crazy, it is nice to see the wrestlers being available for something like this and I’m sure they are thrilled as well.
