WATCH: WWE Releases Backstage Footage Of CM Punk’s Survivor Series Return

It was a big moment. There are certain things which will almost always work in wrestling and a major return is one of them. You will occasionally see someone come back to television after a lengthy absence and usually, the longer they have been away, the bigger of a reaction they will receive. That is what we saw a year ago and now WWE is giving us a new look at what happened.

At Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk made a surprise return, ending a nearly ten year hiatus from the company. WWE has released a behind the scenes look at Punk’s return, including him standing backstage at the Gorilla Position and waiting to go through the curtain while receiving directions from Triple H. Punk also meets various wrestlers, including Randy Orton, who was returning that night as well and appears very surprised to see him. The clip of Punk’s return is shown at the end, with the reaction from his hometown crowd near Chicago.

Opinion: This is one of the things I love about WWE, as they are able to bust out all kinds of footage from something that happened a year ago and yet they still have a fresh perspective. WWE seemingly always has something like this, which makes for some fascinating moments, as you can see a variety of special moments like this from a very different place.
