They aren’t happy. We are on the Road To WrestleMania 40 and that means we are going to be seeing some huge moments to set up the biggest event of the year. That is something that can go very well but in some cases it can go rather badly. The latter seems to be the case this weekend as WWE did something that has not been well received. Now we are seeing it again.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Dotted Line: AEW Officially Announces Signing Of New Star
On SmackDown, Cody Rhodes announced that he would not be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Instead, Rhodes brought out the Rock, implying (but not saying) that he would be facing Reigns at the show instead. The move has resulted in a variety of negative publicity and reactions, with the YouTube video receiving hundreds of thousands of dislikes. As seen in a video online, the Rock was also booed when the recap was shown at a WWE live event in Knoxville, Tennessee. Rock vs. Reigns has not been made official and there is nothing to suggest that the match will be changed.
It was a bad night. Check out how the crowd reacted and what they were reacting to:
Opinion: WWE is in a very weird spot here as they have the dream match but the fans are already rejecting it. I’m not sure I can imagine WWE changing things in a big way, but unless they have something to calm the people down, it is not going to go well for the next two months on the Road To WrestleMania. That is a long time to fix things, but it might not be the easiest task.
What does this reaction mean? How can WWE fix the problem? Let us know in the comments below.
