That’s a new one. There are several titles and championships which can be won throughout the wrestling world. While all of them have different stories, they all have one important thing in common: someone has to be the first champion. It can be a game changer to a wrestler’s career to win an inaugural title and now we are getting ready to see that again in WWE.

This week on SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis introduced the WWE Women’s United States Title, a new midcard championship for the women’s division. The title is similar to the WWE United States Title, albeit with a white strap. There was no word on when or how the first champion will be crowned. WWE had been rumored to be bringing in such a title for the last several months.
It’s a cool moment. Check out the title being introduced, and other titles doing the same:
Opinion: Makes sense. This is something that WWE has been teasing for a good while and now we are seeing it happen. I’m not wild on the idea of another title of any kind, but the WWE women’s division does have the depth to make it work. I would hope that Monday Night Raw doesn’t introduce its own version, but there is always a strong chance that one show will copy whatever the other is doing.
