They’re back. Injuries can be some of the worst things in all of wrestling as they can derail all kinds of things out of nowhere. It can make for quite the change for everyone involved, but it can also lead to quite the great moment when they are able to return to the ring. That was the case this weekend as two stars made their returns to the ring after some very long absences.

There were two returns this weekend on AEW Collision with Rey Fenix and Rush returning to the ring. First, Fenix defeated the Beast Mortos in his first match since October following a hip injury. Second, Rush returned and defeated Martin Stone, marking his first AEW match since December 2023. Rush had been out of action with a torn hamstring, though he had been wrestling in Mexico in recent weeks due to a visa issue.
It was a big night. Check out the two returns and more from Collision:
Opinion: It’s always great to see wrestlers come back, especially if they have been out of action with an injury. Both Fenix and Rush can be put into a fairly prominent role rather quickly, with Fenix being able to work on his own or with Penta El Zero Miedo in the Lucha Bros. It is nice to have more options like this and AEW got them back in a nice way, which could be a good sign for the future.
