It was a busy night. There have been a lot of changes taking place in WWE in recent months and several of them have had to do with NXT. WWE has reportedly been wanting to elevate the show to the status of a third brand and that requires some adjustments. A few of those changes have already taken place, and now two more of them went down in the same night.

This week’s NXT featured both a title change as well as a pair of main roster stars making a surprise return. First up, Nathan Frazer defeated Oro Mensah to become the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion. Mensah defended the cup on behalf of the regular champion Noam Dar, who had suffered an injury. Second, Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza made a surprise appearance by attacking Axiom and Scrypts after they defeated Dabba-Kato in a handicap match. Carrillo and Garza have only wrestled one televised match since September 2022.

It has been a busy night. Check out what happened and another big story from the show:

Opinion: This is the kind of night that can be part of a game changer for NXT, as there have been all kinds of changes. It is nice to see WWE wanting to do something different with the show, as there are all kinds of things that could be done. NXT has all kinds of potential and moving around to a few new situations could be the way to boost it up above what it has been in recent months.
