Him? AEW has a rather deep talent roster with all kinds of wrestlers up and down the lineup. At the same time, the company only has five hours of television a week and there is only so much room to get people involved. That means several wrestlers will be issuing for extended periods of time, though one of them made a surprise return this week, doing something that might not have been expected.

This week on AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy defeated Mike Bennett in a singles match. Following the match, the Undisputed Kingdom attacked Cassidy, with Jake Hager making a surprise save. Hager and Cassidy did not have a previous relationship or partnership in AEW, though the show was in Hager’s home state of Oklahoma. Hager has not wrestled a match since January 10.

Opinion: This feels like something that was done for the live crowd and sure why not. It’s not like Hager has been doing anything in AEW as of late so throwing him out there to see what he can add is not a bad idea. At some point you have to see what you still have with him so this does make sense for AEW. If nothing else, how often is he going to get that positive of a reaction?
