WATCH: Surprise Turn Takes Place On SmackDown As Mystery Attacker Is Revealed

He’s changed. There are all kinds of ways to shift things around for a wrestler and sometimes that is exactly what needs to be done. Occasionally a wrestler just needs something new and that can make for quite the moment if everything is done right. We saw that again this week and now someone is going in quite the different direction after several months.

Back on April 5, a mystery assailant attacked Dragon Lee, resulting in him being pulled from his scheduled WrestleMania 40 match. This week on SmackDown, Santos Escobar released security camera footage showing that Carlito, Lee’s LWO stablemate, was the attacker. Carlito was also the person who found Lee after the attack. Following the reveal, Carlito attacked Lee and Rey Mysterio.

Opinion: This is something that seemed to have been set up for a little while now and that isn’t a bad way to go. Sometimes the best way to do things like this is to go with the obvious idea and that is what they did here. Carlito feels like a much better fit as a villain and now he has a long list of people ready to feud with right off the bat. This was logical and well done, which isn’t a combination you see very often.
