And NEW! Title changes can make for a big deal in wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone getting their hands on a title for the first time. The main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Samoa Joe lose the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles to two of the Devil’s masked henchmen. Joe was attacked before the match and was unable to compete, leaving Friedman to be attacked by a third henchmen. Following the match, Joe revealed that he had been working with the Devil and faked his injury before attacking Friedman to end the show. Joe had been defending the titles in the absence of an injured Adam Cole.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is probably a long time overdue. At the end of the day, it is weird to see Friedman, the AEW World Champion, defending the minor league’s Tag Team Titles. At some point you need to change things up and go somewhere with the story and that is what took place here. Now we need a good Devil reveal, but at least something has taken place.
