They’re not done. Retirement is a tricky situation in wrestling as you never know if it is actually going to stick. That was the situation again this weekend as a legend went out in style like few others have.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In? Missing AEW Star Returns After Over A Year, Possibly Joins Stable
The main event of this weekend’s AEW Revolution event saw Sting and Darby Allin successfully defend the Tag Team Titles against the Young Bucks in Sting’s retirement match. Following the match, Sting addressed the crowd but the pay per view ran out of time during the middle of his speech. AEW has uploaded the rest of the speech to YouTube, showing Sting bringing his sons into the ring. The AEW roster, including Tony Khan, came to the stage to applaud Sting to end the clip.
It was special. Check out what you did not see at Revolution plus what Sting has done on his way to retirement:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you do not get to see very often as Sting’s retirement has been about as well done as it could have been. Thankfully AEW put the whole thing on YouTube, though it would have been nice to see it done right in the first place. Sting got to have a great moment and it lived up to the hype, which is quite impressive given what kind of a career he has had to get here.
What did you think of the speech? What is the best part of Sting’s career? Let us know in the comments below.
