That’s awesome. There have been countless wrestlers over the years and unfortunately some of them have passed away far too early. This could be the case for a variety of reasons and most of them are rather sad. While fans can be impacted by what happens, there is also a big impact on the wrestlers. You might see those wrestlers pay tribute to their departed friends and that was the case this weekend.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Stick Around: Major Update On Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Future
Over the weekend, WWE ran a live event in Rochester, New York, the hometown of former WWE Superstar Brodie Lee (also known as Luke Harper), who would have celebrated a birthday on Saturday. During the show, Seth Rollins spoke about seeing fireflies in the audience (a reference to Bray Wyatt, who passed away earlier this year) and talked about loved ones being on people’s minds. He also said catchphrases from both Wyatt (“You know what I’m saying?”) and Lee (“Yeah, yeah yeah.”).
It was a special moment. Check out the speech plus the two departed stars:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you do not see very often and in this case that is a good thing. Rollins got to give a very nice speech but unfortunately it is because two people are gone. It makes sense for Rollins, and others, to be reminiscing about old times and people who are gone, especially when one of them has only been gone for a few months now. Either way, it was a very nice moment, but hopefully it doesn’t have to be done again.
What did you think of the speech? Who should take the World Heavyweight Championship from Rollins? Let us know in the comments below.
