WATCH: Seth Rollins Gives A Special Speech After NXT Goes Off The Air

It was a special moment. NXT has been one of the most interesting parts of WWE in the last ten plus years, as having the official developmental program airing its own television show once a week is not something that has been done on a national stage. As a result, NXT has taken on a life of its own, and some of its history was on display this week in a very special way.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins successfully defended his title against Bron Breakker in the main event of this week’s NXT. Following the show, Rollins addressed the crowd, saying he was here to bring prestige to his championship. Rollins also spoke about how the NXT audience had the same energy that they had when he was part of the roster and how important it was to keep that going.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make NXT feel that much more important and they made it work here. Having someone like Rollins, who is one of the biggest stars in WWE today, be in NXT is a special moment. Rollins is a genuine NXT legend and in a lot of ways, the very first one. He has a connection to NXT and it is nice to see him back, especially in a moment like this.
