It happens occasionally. There are all kinds of people who come together to make a wrestling show work, but ultimately they are all there to make the fans invested in what they are watching. That can be a lot harder than expected at times though as there will always be people who do not like some of the wrestlers. Such a situation took place recently, but a top WWE star had something to say about it.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s A New One: Unique Stipulation Announced For Summerslam Grudge Match
Over the weekend, WWE ran a live event in Miami, Florida, featuring Seth Rollins defeating Finn Balor in the main event to retain the World Heavyweight Title. Following the match, Rollins addressed the crowd, but was heckled by a fan who told him that he was a “fake a** champion.” Rollins responded by talking about the blood and sweat that he spilled his own blood like the fans deserve in a champion. Rollins is scheduled to defend the title against Balor this weekend at Summerslam.
It was quite the response. Check out what Rollins said, plus what he has been doing lately:
Opinion: This is something that is going to happen to even the top stars in WWE every so often, but what matters is how well it is handled. Rollins did about as well as could be expected and didn’t say anything stupid, making it a rather nice response. Rollins is on a roll right now and doing well as champion, but that doesn’t mean he is going to please everyone all at once.
What did you think of the response? How long will Rollins be champion? Let us know in the comments below.
