Kind of a homecoming? There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to get to the top of the WWE ladder but some of them come up through the company’s official developmental system. That is the kind of thing that a good number of wrestlers have done so far with quite the success rate. Now a former developmental star is paying a bit of a tribute to his time there.

The closing segment of this week’s Monday Night Raw featured the contract signing between World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and #1 contender Finn Balor. Following the signing, Balor and his Judgment Day teammates beat down Rollins to end the show. After the show was over, Rollins addressed the crowd, apologizing for what happened and promising to defeat Balor at Summerslam. Rollins also spoke about his time in Florida Championship Wrestling, which was based in Tampa, Florida, the same location as this week’s Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: Rollins getting to be the one to close out the show makes sense as he is the biggest star on Monday Night Raw at the moment. Letting him send the fans home happy is a smart move as the ans are going to react to just about everything he says. At the same time, he has a lot going on at the moment and can tie it into his history with Florida Championship Wrestling for a nice bonus.
