And so, it ends? There have been countless storylines in WWE history but only a few stand out as memorable. One of the biggest stories of the year in WWE has been Sami Zayn splitting away from the Bloodline and facing Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber. Zayn lost the match, but went on to team with Kevin Owens to take the Tag Team Titles from the Usos at WrestleMania 39.
During an interview with Inside The Ropes, Zayn talked about his story with the Bloodline and said that after 21 years in wrestling, he got to do something even greater with that story. Zayn also said that his role in the Bloodline story is done, though he and Owens are set to defend against Reigns and Solo Sikoa of the Bloodline at Night Of Champions on May 27.
It is an interesting interview. Check out the full thing, plus Zayn and the Bloodline:
Opinion: Zayn has a point here in that his time with the Bloodline, both as part of and against them, was great and there was a real case to be made to have Zayn defeat Reigns. At the same time, Zayn as one of their main opponents seems to be fading a bit, even with the tag match being announced. Zayn and Owens will be facing Reigns and Sikoa, though the Bloodline’s issues seem to be more internal than anything else.
