Sometimes you need help. Roman Reigns has held the Universal Title for over 1,000 days and could hold it much longer. Reigns has defeated all kinds of challengers over the course of his time as champion, though several of the defenses have required help. Now that Reigns has lost the services of his cousins the Usos, he could use some more assistance. That was on display this weekend.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Say What? Interesting Detail On CM Punk’s AEW Collision Promo

Over the weekend, Reigns defended his title against Rey Mysterio at a WWE live event in Cincinnati, Ohio. Late in the match, Mysterio managed to hit a 619 and top rope splash but his son Dominik pulled the referee out. Rey attacked Dominik, eventually allowing Reigns to defeat him and retain the title. This comes after the Judgment Day and the Bloodline have had an unofficial alliance in recent weeks.

It was a busy night. Check out the title match, plus the two sides working together:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for an interesting moment as the Mysterios’ issues can continue while Reigns gets to retain his title. I’m not sure when Reigns is going to lose the title, but it is going to take a special performance from the right opponent to make it work. That was almost the case this weekend, but again Reigns had the right kind of backup.
