That’s a rare one. There are very few stars in WWE history who have reached the level of Roman Reigns. Having held the Universal Title for over six hundred days, Reigns is one of the longest reigning champions in WWE history and the question becomes who could possibly take the title off of him. Reigns is a special star, but he did something very interesting this weekend at a live event.
Following a victory over Drew McIntyre in the main event of Saturday’s live event in Erie, Pennsylvania, Reigns broke character to thank the fans for helping him get through the last month. Reigns said it was his first time in the ring since WrestleMania and thanked the fans for supporting them. In addition, Reigns asked fans not to put it on social media because he would deny it and say that the video was a hologram.
That’s some good hologramming. Check out what Reigns had to say:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you don’t get to see very often but it is nice to have happen occasionally. Reigns got to pull back the curtain a bit and thank the fans for being there for WWE. It is the kind of emotion that isn’t there very often as WWE doesn’t often let people see beyond the corporate logo. Reigns is the face of the company right now and getting to hear something like this from him means more than it would coming from anyone else.
What did you think of the speech? Who will take the title from Reigns? Let us know in the comments below.
