That’s big. We are about three months away from WrestleMania 40 and that means WWE is going to be attempting to create the biggest card imaginable for one of its biggest shows in history. That will involve wrestlers coming in from outside to be on the card, which could open up a variety of doors. One of those doors may have been opened this week in quite the big way.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s Out: WWE Making Change To Commentary Team Starting This Week
WWE announced that a former WWE Champion would be appearing on the show this week, which wound up being Jinder Mahal. After Mahal insulted America, the Rock returned and argued with Mahal before attacking him. Following the fight, Rock said that he was going to get something to eat after the show and asked if he should sit at the head of the table, referencing his cousin Roman Reigns. There was no mention of a potential match between the two, though Rock has previously spoken about trying to get a match with Reigns set for WrestleMania. It is not clear when or if Rock will return to the ring.

Opinion: In short, if a match between the Rock and Reigns is a possibility, WWE can and should do everything they can to make it happen. That is the kind of match that does not happen very often and WWE could bring in a boat load of cash with it. Whatever else they had in mind can go away, because that is the kind of match that headlines a major WrestleMania, assuming Rock’s schedule lets that happen.
