When worlds collide. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years, as the barriers between promotions have gone down. The separation between companies has lowered as promotions are starting to work together and acknowledge each other more than ever. That has made for some interesting moments, and that was the case again this week, involving a promotion that is only kind of around at the moment.
This week on Impact Wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Rok-C to win the Ring of Honor Women’s Title. Following the match, Ring of Honor’s Maria Kanellis-Bennett came to the ring to confront Purrazzo, with several other Ring of Honor wrestlers surrounding her. Impact Wrestling stars attempted to make a save but were attacked as well. This comes after the Ring of Honor stars invaded Hart To Kill, a show that also saw the Ring of Honor World Title defended.
It was a big night. Check out the match, the post match, and the new champ in action:
Opinion: This feels like it could be the next step in a huge story between the Ring of Honor invaders and Impact Wrestling. With so many wrestlers done from Ring of Honor, we could be seeing some very big names and that should make for some cool moments. I’m curious to see just what the company has planned, because an invasion angle can be fascinating when it is done right, and they are off to a good start.
What do you think of the title change? How will the invasion go? Let us know in the comments below.
