On Saturday at WrestleMania 40, Sami Zayn defeated Gunther to win the Intercontinental Title for the fourth time. This marks the end of Gunther’s reign at 666 days, which is the longest individual title reign in history and gives Gunther the most days overall as champion as well. Gunther had held the title since June 10, 2022 and was defending the title at his second straight WrestleMania.

Opinion: That is certainly a milestone and it’s a big deal to have Gunther’s reign FINALLY come to an end.
