The old is new again. Later this month, “Monday Night Raw” will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special episode. There’s almost no hiding the fact that this is going to be one of the most star studded episode in company history and WWE is going to highlight their extensive history. That’s what they’ve done again, including a look back to about twenty two years ago.

WWE has released a video recreating the “Monday Night Raw” opening sequence from 1996 with modern wrestlers having replaced the original performers. The video is a collection of wrestlers hitting some of their bigger spots with no real backdrop save for the music playing in the background. Here’s the video:

Opinion: These things are cool and if there’s one thing WWE can do better than anyone else in the business, it’s put together video packages. They have a long history to work with and in this case, they looked back at one of their weaker periods. That makes for a cool video like this and thankfully it was well done and a nice idea as we get closer to the big anniversary.
