WATCH: NXT Star Returns After Four Month Absence, Jumps Into Title Picture

Welcome back. A wrestler might take some time away from WWE for one reason or another and that can change things up quite a bit. While a promotion will have to find a way to make up for someone’s absence, it also opens the door for a big time return down the line. This may or may not be known in advance and the latter was true for a surprise return this weekend.

Cora Jade made a surprise return to NXT over the weekend at Deadline. Jade appeared and jumped NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria after Valkyria had come out to stare down Blair Davenport. With Valkyria down, Jade held up the title belt. Later in the show, Jade mentioned being back and promised to be at next week’s NXT. Jade has been absent from NXT since early August when she walked out during the show. A QR code shown on this week’s NXT led to what sounded like Jade’s voice teasing the return.

Opinion: It’s nice to have someone back like this and Jade can be slotted into a few different places on the roster. She has an established name and coming after the title should be a good way to go. Jade had been rumored to be back here but she made the return work fairly well. Hopefully things go well for her, as she has a good start to her current run.
